(CDS) Community Development Services is a community based non-profit organization designed and powered to provide a stellar youth and community service experience. At the heart of CDS lie our core values. Created together with CDS leadership and staff is our nine core values are beliefs that support our vision and shape our culture — both professionally and individually.                  

  Vision:

CDS envisions all youth and families in urban at risk communities having access to quality equitable education and career opportunities. We believe this will reduce the violence and acts of hopelessness in our communities. This will also build  the youth and families confidence while improving the quality of life in our communities.
CDS Community Learning Center offers academic, artistic, and cultural enrichment opportunities to students and their families during non-school hours (before or after school) or periods when school is not in session (including holidays, weekends or summer recess). Our overall mission to assists students and families in improving every student’s  academic achievement, to meet their local school and state academic standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and mathematics, by providing the students with a safe haven ,  Literacy Tutors, Math Tutors , ESL support team and opportunities for academic enrichment. 
 The CDS Community Learning  Center also provide students with a broad array of other services – such as drug and violence prevention, counseling, arts, music, recreation, technology, and character education programs – during periods when school is not in session. 
In addition to services for students, CDS staff and collaborating partners will provide parents and community with Family,Community & School Engagement workshops, adult literacy, digital literacy and career development.
OUR ,It takes a village, collaborative approach is what makes us stand out from  other youth education support programs in our area. Parents and the school community engagement is essential to the CDS mission and the success of our students. While working with students to improve academic achievements throughout the school year, parents are encouraged to attend our fun and informing (PIN) Parent Involvement Now series of Trainings and Workshops once a month, and participate in our four Family and Community Engage events and activities throughout the  year.  

The CDS Objectives: 

  •     Provide a safe haven with a loving environment where students and families feel supported and motivated to learn. 
  •     Establish a working relationship with our school administrators, counselors, and teaching staff to aline the school’s mission and academic goals with those of CDS. 
  •    Have certified educators and case managers complete assessments and provide students and families with an academic development plan (adp) that will improve student’s academic and SEL skills. 
  •     Train Families and community on education laws and how to advocate for every child’s right to safe and equitable education.
